COCOON  -  THE FORTRESS OF ARMOUR

                                                                                An image of  Cocoon

The Cocoon means envelop in a protective or comforting way.

The silky covering that surrounds a caterpillar larva in the pupa stage of metamorphosis is a lesson from the nature.

There are many examples of protective shield for the progeny in the nature.  Those are made to protect the babies from the enemies or the threat from the nature such as torrential rainfall and gusty winds.

There is the instance of  mother hen protecting its baby chickens with her wings.

A tortoise has a naturally built armor as fortress to protect itself.  Other than tortoise there are crab, lobster and sea shells with a tough exterior.

The bivalve mollusks (e.g. oysters, clams, scallops and mussels) have an external covering e.g., a two-part hinged shell that covers a soft bodied invertebrate.

Many bivalve species play important roles in aquatic and marine ecosystems by filtering the water and serving as habitat and prey for a variety of sea life. This diverse group of species, estimated at about 9,200, inhabits virtually the entire world ocean, from the balmy tropics to the sub-zero Arctic, and from the deep ocean to sandy and rocky shorelines. A few have even taken up residence around hydrothermal vents found deep in the Pacific Ocean, below 13,000 feet.

All these sea wealth has a tough covering to protect its bodies.

A pearl also found in a tough exterior.

Some birds make a nest to fortify its shelter to lay eggs as well as protect its babies.

However, the other living beings are not blessed with such an exterior.

All beings in the world teaches us to love and take care.

The parents take extra care to groom their children with an arm around them in a soothing and comforting way.   The institution of family always take care of other members under the roof.

The loving and caring of the dear ones is a lesson learnt from the nature.  Especially the human beings are blessed with love sentiments.

Extending an arm offering protection and care

There is nothing in this world greater than love and care.

                                                      Enjoying the company being together

Most of us are fortunate enough to enjoy the maternal, paternal, brother and sister love and affection.  A young person often seek the love of a girl friend which sometimes in all probability ends up in marriage.  Husband and wife love each other and take care of their partner. The family ties are the much sought after relations in the society.

The existence of family as an institution is the fortress which widely accepted in the society.  Apart from humans the animals, birds and insects all protects their offspring and shields as a fortress of armor - the Cocoon.

In a nut shell we can conclude that love conquers all and we are safe in the family as Cocoon, the Fortress of Armor.
