Dream world is to indulge in daydreams or fantasies about something greatly desired.

If your dreams don't scare you, they are too small.

Sigmund Freud emphasized the importance of the unconscious mind, and a primary assumption of Freudian theory is that the unconscious mind governs behavior to a greater degree than people suspect. Indeed, the goal of psycho analysis is to make the unconscious conscious.

Sigmund Freud was an Austrian neurologist and the founder of Psychoanalysis, a clinical method for evaluating and treating pathology in the psyche through dialogue between a patient and psychoanalyst.  

 

Interpretation of dreams  :

Dream interpretation is the  process of assigning meaning to dreams.

 

JOSEPH - THE DREAMER (BIBLE  - GENESIS - OLD TESTAMENT ) :

 

 

Jacob stayed on to live in the land of Canaan like his forefathers. He had 12 sons.  Joseph was his youngest son.  Joseph 17 years old joined his brothers to take care of family's sheep and goats.

 

Jacob liked Joseph more than his other sons.  The special love and affection was due to the fact that he was born to him in his old age.  He gave a long robe, a special dress to Joseph.  Joseph's brothers were envious of him and hated him for his special privileges that he got from his father. 

Joseph was a dreamer and he told about his dreams and its meaning to his brothers.  This made them to hate him even more.  Joseph's brothers wanted to kill him.  They threw him into a dry well.  One of his  brothers told others that we should not kill him but sell him to the traders or desert merchants who were traveling in their vicinity on camels carrying spices and ointments.  They saved Joseph from the well and sold him to the traders for 20 silver coins. The traders took him to Egypt.

Many things happened to him in Egypt. The LORD was with him and he became successful.  But he was put into a prison for the crimes which he has not committed.  He soon became the Jailer's favorite and enjoyed special privileges.  There was a baker with him in the jail. He had a dream.  Joseph told the meaning of his dream and it happened within 3 days.  The baker was released from the jail as Joseph predicted. 

 

Out of the Jail, the baker joined his duty to serve the king.  The King of Egypt had a dream which none of his court mates or any other person could explain.  The baker told the King about Joseph.  The King summoned Joseph and narrated his dream to Joseph.  The dream was that the King was standing near the Nile river banks and he saw seven fat cows emerged from the waters and started grazing in the river banks.  After sometime he saw another seven cows which were skinny and bony appeared there and they swallowed the fat cows.  But they remained  the same even after swallowing the fat cows.

 

Joseph interpreted the dream as seven fat cows were the rich harvest they are going to enjoy for the next seven years.  And the seven skinny and bony cows were the famine which will destroy Egypt.  Joseph always maintained that God is speaking through him. The King  was satisfied by Joseph's interpretation of his  dream which no one else could explain.  The King made Joseph as Governor of his Kingdom and appointed other officers to assist him in storing food grains from the rich harvest and to see through his subjects and cattle from the famine. The King put a gold ring which engraved royal status to Joseph's fingers and gave a linen robe to wear.  He also put a gold chain around Joseph's neck.   Thus Joseph became next only to the King. He distributed food grains to the people and during the famine his brothers visited him for help.  But they could not recognize him.  Joseph revealed the truth to them and had shown his desire to meet his father.  

Joseph became rich and famous and ruled the kingdom.
