PAX  AMERICANA  - 'PEACE  BE  WITH  YOU'

PAX is an abbreviation for passengers. So a plane carrying 300 pax has 300 passengers onboard.

 

PAX is also known for global peace.

 

 
"Pax" is a Latin word meaning "peace", and the phrases "Pax Romana", "Pax Britannica", and "Pax Americana" are used to describe periods of relative peace and stability that occurred during the reigns of the Roman Empire, the British Empire, and the United States of America respectively.

 

Pax Americana (Latin: American Peace, modeled after Pax Romana and Pax Britannica; also called the Long Peace) is a term applied to the concept of relative peace in the Western Hemisphere and later in the world after the end of World War II in 1945, when the United States became the world's dominant economic, cultural, and military power.

What are the benefits of Pax Americana?

 

That liberal democracy is considered the norm instead of authoritarianism. The world has seen the most peaceful, prosperous 80 years in its history under Pax Americana. More advancements, more rights for all, higher quality of living, more people lifted out of poverty etc.

Peace in Ukraine after Russia attacks them. 

 

Will Russia dare to attack other nations that have boundaries with Russia if they win the war with Ukraine? -

Depends on whether Russia’s genocidal attack on Ukraine succeeds. If it does, Moldova and Georgia are next, but Russia can only succeed against Ukraine if NATO wilts. A wilted NATO makes its eastern flank vulnerable.

 

NATO (The North Atlantic Treaty Organization), also called the North Atlantic Alliance, is an intergovernmental military alliance of 31 member states – 29 European and two North American.

 

Russia practices hybrid warfare. I think it would first try to establish beachheads in countries with ethnic Russian enclaves, using the same false pretexts as it used in Ukraine.

 

And even if Putin accidentally falls from a fourth-floor window, whoever replaces him in Russia is likely to be as much or more of a hardliner as Putin—unless Ukraine+NATO+EU+Japan/Australia etc. demolishes Russia on the battlefield. Putin isn’t an anomalous Russian ruler—just more of the same historically.

 

A truce in a war-like situation will result in peace.   When two warring sides decide to call it quits, it's called a truce — an agreement to end the fighting. When there's a truce, the two sides stop attacking each other, catch their breath, and try to work out a peace deal.

The Christian community, in general, will make a truce with warmongers.

 

 
In the Christian Church the kissing by all the participants at a mass of a tablet depicting the Crucifixion or other sacred objects such as the statue of Infant Jesus on a Christmas day mass, the arrow of St. Sebastian during the annual feast mass, or kissing the feet of Mother Mary during her feast mass, etc.

 

During the Catholic mass, the priest will offer a sign of peace to the attendees who in turn wish peace to one another saying 'Peace be with you'.

The symbol of a dove with an olive branch has been accepted in many religions and places as one of love and peace. The symbol is rich in meaning and is the preeminent symbol of peace.



Alfred Nobel who invented the nuclear weapon later instituted Nobel Prizes including one for global peace.



Mother Teresa was one of the advocates of peace too. She was the recipient of the Nobel Prize for Peace in the year 1979.

Are there any challengers to Pax Americana?

 
Pax Americana, an era of American Hegemony in the world order, is witnessing a decline and is being regularly challenged by countries like China, Iran, North Korea, and of course Russia.

 

Now, Is there any alternative, to who is going to take center stage in world order when America leaves. The foremost contender to Pax Americana is Pax Sinica China-led world order. But it also seems a distant reality as the US won’t leave on its own, it has to be displaced out, and currently it isn’t for any single nation even China to displace the US.

 

The most probable alternative to Pax Americana is going to be a multipolar world order led by existing great powers like the US, Russia, Japan, and emerging powers like China and India. The Emergence of any other unipolar world order replacing Pax Americana is highly unlikely unless we have a Third World War!!

 

Another drawback is that China is an authoritarian nation while America is a democracy.

India being a democratic nation loves democracy and peace.
